Mr. Ramos composes music using acoustic instruments, field recordings and electronic sounds. His works are composed for recordings, live performances and sound installations. Many works are available on iTunes and Amazon. His works have been performed by Access Contemporary Music of Chicago, Vox Novus of New York, ArtHouse 43 of Michigan and Classical Revolution PDX in Portland, Oregon. He also creates video installations and has had multiple premieres across the US.
ArtHouse Radio is an arts-based podcast with discussions, archived interviews and new music. Hosted by Mr. Ramos, Season One had 34 episodes and Season Two premieres in July 2016. ArtHouse Radio is a subsidiary of ArtHouse 43, LLC, an arts organization which was founded by Mr. Ramos. He continues to serve as President and CEO of ArtHouse 43.
Mr. Ramos graduated with honors from Western Michigan University in 2004, studying Music Composition and German Language and Literature. He continued his arts studies at the University of York in England, receiving an MA in Music Composition and graduating in October 2008 as a recipient of the PostGraduate Award. At York he studied with distinguished composer and John Cage scholar William Brooks.
